Import and Export Password Files

If this is your first time using Cute Password Manager, you may already have a list or a spreadsheet of logins / password that you keep. Cute Password Manager's Import Wizard can load all that passwords for you!

To import from a flat file, open up the Cute Password Manager Editor and click on File --> Import From..., then choose Import from Your Own Format Password File and click Next. The Import From... and Export To... feature can also be accessed via the Options menu from the UserData tab.

The first step of the wizard prompts you for a file and a delimiter. Simply browse to the location of your file and choose a delimiter. For example, if your file looks like:

username,password,http://www.gmail.com

Then you would choose comma as your delimiter. You may also enter your own delimiter if it is not in any of the radio buttons. Click Next when done.

The next step lists a table of your logins. Simple click on the column headers to map your columns to indicate whether the column should be treated a username, password, url, or an InfoCard name field. After mapping all your columns, the table should look like the screenshot below.

Please note that the password, the URL and the InfoCard name columns are optional, but it is always good to have them in the flat file to avoid future InfoCards editing.

To export the list of passwords stored in Cute Password Manager, open up the Cute Password Manager Editor and click on File --> Export to... The Wizard will list all InfoCards. De-select the InfoCards to exclude them from being exported to the flat file. Click Export To... to enter a filename and location for the exported file and click Save to finish.
